Giraffe Centre tours, things to do and tickets

Spend the day visiting David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to observe baby and young orphaned elephants: viewing is strictly between 11am and 12pm.  you'll visit the Giraffe Center to experience a supervised feeding session.

Visit Nairobi’s Giraffe Centre, headquarters for the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. Made famous by a giraffe calf rescued from the western Kenya border, the site features giraffes in a semi-wild environment called Giraffe Manor. Follow a 1-hour nature trail to the Gogo River and learn about the graceful animals from your guide.

Follow in the footsteps of Karen Blixen, the Danish writer who lived in Kenya in the early 1900s, on this 4-hour tour from Nairobi. As you travel toward the Ngong Hills, you'll feel like you've been swept onto the set of 'Out of Africa' the moment you arrive at the Karen Blixen Museum, her old colonial farmhouse that features some of her original items. Explore the gardens, where old coffee machines have laid untouched for decades, and then continue to the Giraffe Centre, which protects the highly endangered Rothschild's giraffe. Following lunch, head out of town to Karen Blixen Museum, you feel swept immediately onto the film set of Out of Africa. From here visit the Giraffe Centre, where the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe lives in peace. With an elevated viewing-cum-feeding platform, this tour is wonderful for children.
