During this tour, our small team of Aurora guides check the forecasts & use local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights. When we find the best spot, we will dress in warm thermal suits and boots, make a cosy campfire, and enjoy a homemade meal. You'll be shown how to use your camera, photograph the Aurora, and our guides will take photos of you, available for free in web-sized resolution after the tour. During our time together in the wilderness, we will collect data for a citizen science project and help protect the Arctic nature through responsible tourism. Enjoy our hot chocolate before being returned to Tromsø island to your hotel. Though there is never a guarantee of seeing this phenomenon, our experienced team will do their best every night of the season.

You will be guided by a pro photographer (see proof from our Instagram or Facebook page,) who will safely take you around the perimeter on a 4x4 modified Mercedes Benz minivan. The tour consists central pickup, home made soup, hot drinks, tripods, thermal suit, boots, campfire(if conditions allow,) Aurora portraits and so much more. Greenlander has a reputation of not giving up and therefore having one of the highest success rates in the business, around 95%-98% chance of catching the elusive Northern Lights. Please consider, the weather can be harsh and sometimes we have to chase for hours, before we can even see first stars. This tour might not suit for elder, obese and unfit participants, as sometimes we hike in a snow and our minivan is rather compact compared to bigger buses used by other companies. Join our small group Northern Lights tour! In a small group with a max of 15 people we’ll take you to the spots with the clearest sky, take professional pictures and offer help on how to set up your own camera. Photos will be shared with you by email. If you need a tripod we also got it for you! To keep you warm during the tour we have thermal suits and warm boots. Later on, we're going to enjoy the cozy atmosphere around a bonfire, have sausages, warm drinks and cookies.

Upon reaching suitable skies, we will set up camp for the evening. Most of the time this is a shorter drive to the surrounding coastal islands of Tromsø, or if needed a longer drive into Finland.

Get a unique perspective on the majestic Humpbacks, Fin, Sperm whales and/or Orca's as they feed in the herring-rich fjords of the Arctic. With purpose made hybrid-electric boats for whale watching, we minimise disturbance to nature and whales. Leaving Tromsø in the morning, we head to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. On the way you can take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges and 2 decks. We use a hybrid engine to reach the whale’s feeding grounds, and as we near the whales, we switch to a silent electric engine that allows us to get closer without disturbing them. Please note that the duration of the trip depends on the whales’ location. It takes up to 3.5 hours to get to the whales and can therefore range from 8-9 hours. Please note that whale sightings are not guaranteed.

You will be driving your own sled and team of dogs in pairs, an experienced guide will lead your tour on the trail (group size is 20 guests maximum) - Drive your own team of huskies, in pairs you will share control of a dog sled and team of 5-6 Alaskan Huskies - Training is provided on how to control your sled and an experienced guide will lead your tour on the trail - 70-80 minutes of dog sledding in the Arctic wilderness - Afterwards, enjoy cake and a warm drink in the Lavvu - All necessary equipment to keep you safe and warm is provided. Minimum age 7 years Join us for the experience of a lifetime, mushing your own team of dogs across the Arctic wilderness. Meet our kennel of 130 beautiful Alaskan Huskies. These are the running dogs of the Arctic, born and bred with a passion to pull. You will have plenty of opportunities to swap between driver and passenger throughout the trip, as well as a chance to cuddle the dogs once back at the kennel.

After a briefing on the weather and route, we’ll head out in search of the Northern Lights. The guide will share insights about the Aurora, local wildlife, and history. We monitor the forecast to find the best location, even if it means heading to Finland. At the viewing spot, enjoy hot drinks, snacks, and, if possible, a bonfire (weather-dependent). Thermal suits are available to keep you warm. Your guide will take professional photos of you with the Northern Lights. Photos are uploaded the next day. After the tour, we’ll drop you off at Tromsdalen, Reinen, Tromsø Island, or Kvaløysletta. If your accommodation is elsewhere, we'll help arrange a taxi.

Visit a reindeer camp outside of Tromsø on this 4 hour tour that introduces you to a little Sami culture. You'll have a chance to feed a herd of 300 reindeer, take a 10-15-minute reindeer sled ride, and then gather inside a Sami tent for a hot meal and to hear stories about Sami culture around the campfire. A guide also performs a joik, traditional Sami folk song.

Join this northern lights chase to maximize your chances of seeing the world’s most spectacular light show. On board the bus there will be one professional driver and one experienced Northern Lights guide. They are passionately committed to choosing the best spot based on the weather forecast, that maximizes the options of seeing the aurora. The guide will also take pictures during the excursion so you can have a souvenir to bring home. It is important to mention that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and it can't be guaranteed that they will be seen. The meeting place for the English, German and Spanish tours is inside the building Prostneset (at the main entrance downstairs and close to the bus terminal).

Enjoy the Sami experience of reindeer sledding, where you'll enjoy a long sleigh ride (30 mins) pulled by a wild reindeer. Then feed a herd of 300 reindeer at the camp, and gather inside a traditional Sami tent for a hot meal and to listen to stories about Sami culture around the campfire. A Sami guide will also perform a joik, traditional folk song, for you, before return transportation to Tromsø.

NB! From 1st of November 2025 to 31st of January 2026, we will not be able to offer fishing on this tour. During this period the tour will take place with Sagasund which can take 120 passengers. The reindeer and the Sami have been living and working on this land for centuries and they have only recently invited guests to be part of their daily life. You will visit their camp and have a chance to feed the herd of around 300 wild reindeer who will swarm all around and some will even eat from your hands. You will then be invited for hot drinks around the fire inside a warm candlelit gamme (Traditional Sami Hut) where lunch, bidos, cooked over the open fire will be served (a traditional Sami stew which is often served at Sami weddings and other special occasions). After lunch you will be invited into a lavvu (Sami tent) and gather around the fire to listen to stories about Sami culture and how it is to be a reindeer herder. The Sami guide will also perform a joik (traditional Sami song) for the guests.
